I notice in this story that there are a lot of similies. In this post please find your favourite or the strongest similie and explain why it is the strongest or your favourite.
My favourite similie explains a character right at the beginning and gives a strong mental image. The quote is "If she believes something she doesn't keep it in her head like private property with a no tresspassing sign up; she puts it out there in the world." This similie gives information about Addie very quickly. You wouldn't say this about just anybody and this gives a very strong mental image.
Hey Ellen,
ReplyDeleteCould you explain this similie a little further? What does it tell you about Addie? How she makes decisions?
It is a great moment to quote.
Mr. B
I specifically liked this simile:
ReplyDelete"Ideas are rushing at me like water out of an open hydrant."
I liked this quote (pg. 136), because you get that mental image that there are countless things in his head at that moment, and you could picture water gushing out of the open hydrant. It tells me that Bobby had a sudden realization, an epiphany, if you will.
Also, Bobby wasn't really that kind of guy before, the one to have epiphanies often, so this could show character development.
i agree with stephen and Mr.Bowen though i cant reallt read your text i know you want it to be fancy and all but can you please change it. Pretty pretty please???
