My fish tank

Look my fish tank is based on the cover of rules. There is a rubber duck background, there is a bunch of goldfish and a yellow one that is supposed to look like a rubber duck.

Catherine's feelings

I think that Catherine feels she doesn't belong in her life. She feels that she isn't supposed to be there. In the story on page 135 the author Cynthia lord wrote "I don't belong in completely in either world" This quote sur prised me and it shows that Catherine is insecure and how she feels about her life. I realized that Catherine is really stuck between her two lives and she doesn't want to open up to people about it. If she opened up to people everything might not feel so bad. I learned that if you have to hide something from people close to you chances are that they will eventually find out about it.

Hi rules group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey peoples what do you think about Catherine's and Jason's relationship? I think that it is interesting that with David she gives him rules and cares for him all the time and looks out for him and she is trying to do the same thing with Jason. In the story it says "Wait" Lifting the page I pull gently so it'll tear neatly" and on the next page Catherine says"If he likes it he can have it. Please tell him that the dot in the window is a flashlight."
which proves that she will give away something she worked hard on to a complete stranger to make him feel happy. I realized that Catherine mght get annoyed by her brother (don't we all) but not because he has autism because she does willingly become friends with Jason and he is mute. I think that if Catherine can learn to not judge a book by its cover like she did with Jason they can become really good friends.

What do you all think of Catherine's attitude towards David having autism? I think that she is very negative and she just wants a "normal" brother because she gets embarrassed by him and she doesn't want that sort of attention. In the story it says "But here's what i understand: everyone gets invited except us and it's because of David" which proves that she does get penalized because of David. I realized that I would probably act similar to Catherine because we both would like to feel accepted among our friends and family and when you have a close relative that has autism it is hard to feel like that. I think that later in the book Catherine might learn that she has a brother with autism and there is nothing she can do about it because she says "Sometimes you  have to work with what you have." and this shows that she should accept that life isn't fair and move on.
